A Florida-born citizen can get a certified copy of their birth certificate by visiting Bureau of Vital Statistics. Applicants (self, parent, guardian or legal representative) must provide a valid photo identification to obtain a birth certificate.

Due to a pending software upgrade conducted by the Florida Department of Health, Bureau of Vital Statistics, we are currently unable to provide certified copies of Florida-born citizens’ birth certificates. To obtain certified copies, you must contact the Bureau of Vital Statistics.
